The longest-tenured coach in all of major professional sports -- in his 21st season -- Sloan is now 205 victories ahead of Celtics legend Red Auerbach.
Mehmet Okur and Andrei Kirilenko added 16 points apiece while Kirilenko grabbed 12 boards for Utah, which is aiming for a 6-0 start for the first time since the 1998-99 campaign. Kyle Korver chipped in 13 points off the bench.
Utah will also visit Philadelphia, Washington, Charlotte and Cleveland on its current road swing.
The Knicks have won two in a row after a two-game slide and posted a 114-108 triumph over the Washington Wizards on Friday at the Verizon Center.
Zach Randolph scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Knicks. Jamal Crawford poured in 23 points and dished out three assists and Nate Robinson chipped in 17 points and six assists in the win.
The 2007-08 season series between Utah and New York was tied at 1-1 while the Knicks have won six of the previous eight encounters with the Jazz.
Utah has lost four straight at Madison Square Garden.
